Tears for Thought
Shallow voices reigning the daunting still,
moments tethered to whispered ponder
Unseeing eyes cast in fixated stare,
void of mind's images that wander
Within the siege of reflections merged,
yearned embrace brings weeping to a thought
Staved tears replenished for a shattered dream,
reminisce awakens to love once sought
Upon will's fate proceeded parting sorrow,
disclosed by shudders from a nightly chill
Awaited caress beyond hope's languish,
came with the touch only phantoms fulfill
Dread ebony shades engulfed each day;
darkest pitch spawned to consume the night
Whelmed despair waved farewell to slumber;
obscurity screamed in the deafening quiet
Commitments vowed were strewn in mass;
care was entrusted to your heart
Each promise forms a forlorn sigh;
now saddened memories which never part
Surfaced questions go unanswered why;
voices reign in triumph of conscious will
Void to eyes even though they're seen,
images stir with the call of daunting still
