Remembrance
Homage to child, graces emitting from a star;
wonderment in sky, gleaming beacon of light
Across sand's dunes, journeyed the seeking wise;
paced shadows of three, bearing gifts in the night
A shepherd to kings, prompts their destined path;
inside stable's berth, the kingdom's ruler lies
Temple of purity, refuge for repentant souls;
a doorway opens, sanctified by Heaven's eyes
From mother's womb, divine salvation blooms;
image of Son, holy with Father as one
To sorrowed fate, scourges of tomorrow wait;
come impending sun, God's final will be done
Summoned to hour, witness herald in song;
faces beneath halos, rejoice a promise fulfilled
Prophecy spoken, unscathed by passing time;
in greeting before dawn, the ordained revealed
With shimmer like star, Christ the savior is born;
resurrection's birth, placed in moments of sleep
In approaching years, unknown are thorns to bear;
on Calvary's summit, his father will turn to weep
Homage to child, celebration of hallowed night;
life everlasting, granted by his final tear
Bundled in swaddle, a baby called Jesus;
remembered birth, the founding of Christmas cheer
