Mother's Children

Viewed before a mothers eyes,
forever a child in arms embrace
From swaddled dreams and lullabies,
years pass beyond the cradles' lace

In ardent heart her children dwell,
time's forgotten to a mother's care
Aging shadows and streaks of gray,
offers no lesser love to share

In youth she cuddled babes to breast,
memories undaunted by twilights gone
Sometimes a tear from hidden face,
falls with an image of yesterday's dawn

Laughter of children from fondest dreams,
whisk her away to longed places of lure
Sorrowed weeps sanctioned with smile,
remind us her love will always endure

Viewed before a mothers eyes,
beloved children never grow old
Her babes are offered lulling comfort,
in cradled arms that never unfold
