Lone Flower
Beyond lilies growing in the meadow,
stands a flower unseen by averted eyes
Placed by fate amid harshness of bramble,
beauty survives in the tumbledown guise
Concealed by awe from flourishing view,
resides a blossom beside the thorns
From silken petals shed seeming tears,
created by dew sprinkled morns
Within the vast entanglement of vines,
unnoticed is weeping by gatherers near
Confined to a world that no one sees,
lone flowers cry throughout the year
Beyond lilies growing in the meadow
beauty exists in more than one guise,
Placed by fate amid harshest bramble,
blossomed flowers stand before your eyes

Hummingbirds

Emerald glimmer from misting dew
Around and about hummingbirds flew
Chasing reflections that shimmered green
Sipping beads of the crystalline sheen
Sweetened nectar inside flowers top
Mirrored glade shown on a tiny drop
Buzzing swoop with a zip and a zing
Little hummingbirds return each spring
