| Dust
for Winds Draped
in garments stained by tears,
a dust for the wind will no longer cry
Scattered to earth on a handful of words
the face of an angel touches the sky
Toward an horizon leading
to dawn,
the new arrival is delivered from night
Each tattered thread of swaddled's destine,
shed for adornment in Heaven's light
Born into darkness, many
children weep,
from bleakest shadows their life slowly flees
Lost to oppression, and fathered by same,
tears from famine are the heir's unheard pleas
Tethered to shambles in
forlorn keep,
the infinite ruins offer no release
Built upon foundations void of dreams,
the darkest nights continue without cease
Eyes of the fortunate
pretend to look,
giving backward glance after death calls
Their promised words for abounding hope,
come measured inside a thimble's walls
Draped in garments
stained by tears,
a dust for the wind will no longer cry
Scattered to earth on a handful of words,
another angel touches the sky
